How did you two meet?
We met in the office, but didn’t actually start dating until Joe had left and moved onto a new role!
What about the proposal, how did it go?
The proposal was perfect, Joe knew if it was done somewhere public I would die of embarrassment so we went for an early walk in one of our favourite parks with our dog Fergus! As I was taking a photo of the scenery, Joe got down on one knee behind me and right at that moment Fergus found some lovely fresh deer poo to role in, so when I turned around he had a ring in one hand and a poo covered Fergus in the other hand! It’s was hilarious, it couldn’t have been more us!
Tell us about your venue.
Our venue was stunning, it’s @finnebroguewoods, situated just outside of the town I grew up in. It sits on the river Quoile, surrounded by woodland, the Tipi is where we had all of the food and dancing but it’s really the scenery that was the most spectacular
What was your wedding style/inspo?
I wanted to just go for timeless, classic. I wanted to look back in 20 or 50 years and still love it, so I went with my favourite colours for bridesmaids dresses, emerald green and royal blue and the flowers were white with hints of blue thistle
Tell us about your dress!
I'd first seen the wedding dress on a trip to London with one of my bridesmaids, I think it was maybe the 3rd dress I tried on and as soon as I saw it, I knew it was the one. The shape and style were exactly what I was looking for and the pattern was so unique, I knew it would go perfect with the venue style! When I saw Elizabeth Kate had it in the store closer to home, I couldn’t have been more delighted! The veil as well which I got from Elizabeth Kate, just completed the whole look! It was perfection
What was your favourite part of your wedding day?
I think I have two favourite parts, the first was walking into the church, down the aisle with my dad, seeing all my family and friends and Joe of course, waiting for me! The second is our first dance, we had a live 5 piece band and they sang Everywhere by Fleetwood Mac, one of our favourite songs! We danced together for about a minute and then invited all our guests on, they were all dying to get on the dance floor!
Any changes? (Things you wish you’d done or wish you hadn’t!)
Nothing I would change! It was the most perfect day but I truly believe if anything had gone wrong I wouldn’t have even noticed!
Any tips for brides to be?
My biggest tip is ENJOY THE DAY! Don’t stress, it won’t matter. The morning with your bridesmaids, make it calm and relaxing! Eat the food! Drink the wine! Spend time with your new husband! Don’t sweat the little things, you won’t even notice!
