GEORGINA AND JORDAN: Real Elizabeth Kate bride wears Rebecca Ingram Elsie wedding dress

Updated: Oct 4, 2023

How did you two meet? Our best man! I moved away for university and in my first year (and third year) I lived with our future best man. Me and my husband first met when he visited in first year but I don't actually remember meeting until the third year of university (I was probably hungover!!!). What about the proposal, how did it go? We were visiting his family near Blackpool and whenever we go we always try to visit the sand dunes at Lytham Beach so the dog can burn off lots of energy. The morning of, I could tell something was going to happen as he set an alarm for a Sunday morning and was rushing us to get to the beach. We walked all the way along the beach to the sand dunes, where he paused for a really long time before asking me to hold the dog's lead (which I never usually did). Eventually, he got down on one knee and popped the question!

What was your wedding style/inspo? Our wedding style/inspo was definitely rustic, lots of floral and greenery! We both wanted the venue and style to feel very relaxed and natural - Little Wold Vineyard was perfect! Tell us about your dress! I remember looking online and falling in love with a huge princess dress called Aurora. It was perfect because she was named after my favourite Disney Princess! When I went into Elizabeth Kate, the Rebecca Ingram Elsie wedding dress was the first one I tried but unfortunately she wasn't the one! I was open to trying anything and we soon found Elsie by Rebecca Ingram, covered in sparkle with a gorgeous train and embroidered leaves! We had found the one!

What was your favourite part of your wedding day? One of my favourite parts of the day was dancing down the aisle to Shania Twain's, 'Man, I Feel Like a Woman!' with my dad and our dog, Hal. No one was expecting it but everyone loved it and said that they should have guessed I wasn't just going to walk down the aisle! My bridesmaids were so nervous about it but they were amazing!! Any changes? (Things you wish you'd done or wish you hadn't!) I wouldn't change much about our wedding at all!

Any tips for brides to be?

Some advice would be to do your wedding how you want it - it's your day! I loved not having traditional aisle music (Shania Twain and S Club 7) and our first dance (Beyoncé), and I even made a speech too! Don't stick to traditional because you feel you should, it makes your wedding so much more personal. We decided to have a dessert table guests could help themselves to throughout the night by the amazing Finch Bakery - this was my main requirement when planning the wedding - and guests could not get enough of the brownies, blondies, cookies and rocky roads! Also, definitely have your pet there if you're thinking about it, ours was the star of the show! Another top tip would be to decide what you're doing with your flowers/bouquet before your big day! I booked in to have my bouquet pressed and framed with the lovely @smartfloralart and I have had lots of my flowers resined into keepsakes and gifts which are just gorgeous by the amazing @dontthrowthebouquet ! I'm so glad I found them both so I could keep my flowers forever!
