How did you two meet?
Online - is there really any other way nowadays?
What about the proposal, how did it go?
I (Amanda) proposed to Rachel in 2019 on a trip to Scotland! Rachel thought we were going home from Edinburgh but I had booked another night away at a secret location to try and throw her off the scent! Originally I planned to propose in a restaurant but I was far too nervous. Luckily I had the room decorated by the hotel staff whilst we were at dinner so it was just as romantic as I had planned when I got down on one knee in the hotel room..
What was your wedding style/inspo?
Elegant with a hint of rustic. Sage green with a dash of blush pink
Tell us about your dress!
The dress I chose -Rebecca Ingram Iris wedding dress. it was the first one I spotted on the website before the appointment and it was the first one I tried on the day. I really wanted a fairly low key boho style comfortable dress and this fit the bill.. I wasn't sure about the long sleeves though and we styled another sleeve onto it which we all loved and it was the best decision I ever made because I loved being able to pop them off in the evening and it looked like a completely different dress!
What was your favourite part of your wedding day?
We both struggled to choose a favourite part because our whole day was perfect in its own way but if we had to narrow it down..
Amanda: we did a 'sparkler send off' at 8pm and it was the most magical feeling walking through the sparklers with everyone cheering - and all of our evening guests had arrived too so truly everyone we knew and loved was around us 🥰
Rachel - my favourite part was sitting at our sweetheart table and seeing all of our friends and family from a distance enjoying themselves and having chance to soak it all up with my new wife.
Any changes? (Things you wish you'd done or wish you hadn't!)
Our biggest regret is not getting someone to remind everyone to sign our guestbook.
Any tips for brides to be?
Planning a wedding can be stressful and overwhelming... but that's ok to feel that way. Trust the process and I promise on the day everything will be perfect, the little things you were worrying about will be insignificant. All that matters is you marry your best friend and all your loved ones are there to celebrate with you.
Ask your venue to save you some evening food and put it in your room - Rachel and I didn't get any of our biscuits or bacon butties!
