How did you two meet?
Our love story started with a swipe right lol, a few weeks of messaging back and forth and we went on our first date to an Italian restaurant in Bawtry. We then dated for around 6 months before we decided it was time for our worlds to come together and let our boys meet. From the first time we came together as a four it always felt right, Zakk and Louis became not only brothers but best friends.
What about the proposal, how did it go?
In 2021 we had planned a trip to Lochtay in Scotland for my 30th birthday, we stayed in the cutest cottage up in the mountains with the most amazing views of the loch. On the first night we went for a walk down to have a look at the loch and this is where Jamie proposed, it was just us two in the countryside and so special and everything I could have dreamt of for a perfect proposal.
Tell us about your venue.
For our venue we chose Hall farm hotel located in the Lincolnshire countryside, we had visited a few venues we had liked but we knew straight away how much we loved Hall farm, it gave the chilled, barn and personal vibe we loved.
What was your wedding style/inspo?
The style for the wedding was to create a personal, chilled and country feel. I created a scrap book and got a wedding folder to save all the memories along the way of organising and keep myself on track organising a wedding with three children! We love the colour sage green which fitted in so well with the theme of the wedding, we chose soft colours such as sage green, pale pink and white to style the wedding.
Tell us about your dress!
Myself and one of my best friends were getting married around the same time and had very similar style for our weddings so we would send each other ideas from our Pinterest boards and ideas from Instagram for inspiration, I also really enjoyed browsing tiktok and Etsy to get ideas for personal items and special little touches we put into the wedding.
Before going to look at wedding dresses I had an idea of what I would and wouldn’t like, or so I thought! Holly and Kim were so welcoming and lovely from the very first visit! I took my mum, Nan, mother in law to be and maid of honour. Holly chose out several dresses for me and I kept going back to the same dress, this was the one.
The Rebecca Ingram Hattie Lane dress had the lace style which I loved and gave slight boho feeling but I also felt supported where I needed to be supported and I could really see myself marrying Jamie in this dress.
I chose my dress 5 months after having about little girl so when I returned for my first fitting with my dress the dress needed quite a bit taking in, Kim made me feel so at ease and guided me through each stage. At the very end I decided to change and add straps to the dress to make myself feel more comfortable, we looked at a few ideas and decided to add the leaf effect to match the lace in the dress which was perfect. The whole experience at Elizabeth Kate was perfect, I loved the extra special added touches of the tote bag and bridal mug gift. Kim and Holly also gifted me an emergency bride kit for my dress which I kept in the bridal bag on the wedding day and Kim sewed our initials and date of the wedding into my dress in blue which was such a special, personal touch
What was your favourite part of your wedding day?
Our whole day was so perfect, it was so chilled and flowed so well, my favourite part was having our favourite people in the world with us sharing our special day watching us become husband and wife. Saying our vows with our children by our side (Jamie holding Nora the entire ceremony) and our family and friends was one of the best moments of my life I could not stop smiling the entire time.
I loved putting all the personal touches we had put into the day and seeing everyone enjoy the extra touches such as the ice cream cart, the Photo Booth and garden games.
We also loved the hour our photographer and videographer took us away for our couples photos later in the afternoon, it was so special just us two as newly husband and wife away from everyone and having time on our own and the shots we got in the fields are some of our favourites from the day.
Any changes? (Things you wish you’d done or wish you hadn’t!)
I don’t think we would change anything about or wedding day, I think from the beginning or organising I wanted the day to be about me and Jamie and our children and I feel that is how it felt on the day.
Any tips for brides to be?
My tip for other brides would be to remember the day is about you and your husband or wife and to make sure you keep looking around because seeing everyone together enjoying your special day will become the most amazing memories
